Can I buy THE BOX just for myself?

In the future, everyone will be able to use THE BOX for shipments to avoid packaging waste, get our unique services and save time. But THE BOX itself is and will always be the property of LivingPackets.

Our concept is called "Packaging-as-a-Service", because we only charge for the use of THE BOX. LivingPackets remains the owner of THE BOX - it also allows us to organise updates, repairs and overhauls of our product to reduce our environmental footprint while controlling our income.

In the meantime, if you are located in a participating country [currently: France and Switzerland], you can Buy & Rent a BOX which we will put in service for you with one of our B2B partners which will earn you a nice rent.

How does the circulation work?

We want THE BOX to circulate and be reused a 1,000 times before it needs reconditioning.

We therefore designed many ways for THE BOX to circulate:

If you receive a shipment that you want to return (partially), you just have to push the button on THE BOX to arrange the return to the sender.
If you have an empty unit of THE BOX, you can always use it for your own shipment.
If you have THE BOX at home, you can return it to a nearby partner shop and get a reward for doing so. He will then give it to the next person in need of packaging.
You can always give an empty unit to a neighbor or a friend so he can use it.
You can use THE BOX to send goods to recycling, resale or refurbishment [think: Backmarket and similar platforms].
You can use THE BOX for a donating to one of our NGO's partners.
We are also working with logistics providers to let them collect unused units of THE BOX when they deliver shipments to bring them back into circulation.

How do I ship goods with THE BOX?

Quite simply, you take THE BOX, put the contents to send in it (to measure the weight) close the lid (our holding mechanism takes care that everything stays safely in place), enter the recipient address in our app, buy a shipment label and send the label directly to THE BOX.

How much it costs me to use THE BOX

Accepted Answer

THE BOX is packed with features, but since we can reuse it 1,000 times, we plan to significantly reduce the cost of packaging for everyone.

Currently, we are focusing on the B2B / business-to-business market with high added value. In a few years, we will enter the B2C / business to consumer market and our long term goal will be to charge 2€ per trip and per use of THE BOX and its services.

Our calculations already clearly show that shipping with THE BOX will have many advantages, especially for most companies that will have access to many services in the future that would be impossible without THE BOX.

What is the Business model of LivingPackets?

We call it Packaging-as-a-Service. We want to stop the use of waste packaging and invented the packaging of the future, where we do not charge for the packaging but for using our packaging services.

Accepted Answer

With THE BOX your shipment is delivered like any normal package. Every logistics company can transport and deliver THE BOX to customers. But thanks to our intelligent package, every logistic company can provide better services e.g. like real-time monitoring and exact prediction of arrival at your doorstep. We want to "deliver" the best customer experience in shipping ever with THE BOX.
